Sweet Farts: Rippin’ It Old School (Book Giveaway)

Kids should read! I encourage my kids to read all the time! And sometimes it’s hard to find the right book for kids (especially boys!) So here is a perfect book giveaway for those boys out there! (Hey and girls too!)

sweet farts

Sweet Farts by Raymond Bean became an unexpected bestseller by getting thousands of reluctant boy readers interested in books.  It is a self-published phenomenon that has sold over 11,000 copies in the US (so far) and soon will be published in Germany, Italy, and Korea.  The sequel, Sweet Farts: Rippin’ It Old School by Raymond Bean (AmazonEncore, Paperback, 140 pages, ages 8-12, ISBN: 9781935597087, $9.95) has just come out and it is AmazonEncore’s very first book for kids.

The Sweet Farts series is next in line to capture the adoration of boys who have loved Walter the Farting Dog, Captain Underpants, and The Day My Butt Went Psycho, all of which became bestsellers.  Susan Carpenter of the Los Angeles Timesexplains the appeal of these books:

“I never thought that I would be the sort of mom to buy a book called Sweet Farts for my child.  I never thought I’d invest in a series called Dumb Bunnies.  I recently purchased both…  Being a book lover and a journalist, I always imagined I’d take the literary high road as a parent and that my boy would want to read what I had as a kid: Charlotte’s Web, The Giving Tree, and other wholesome classics.  I never thought I’d have a reluctant reader for a child, yet that’s the position I’m in with my 6-year-old son, who likes books but struggles with reading and writing… When it comes to getting a child to read, snobbery gets you nowhere…”

Product Description

Keith Emerson discovered the cure for the common fart when he invented Sweet Farts. At age ten, Keith is a self-made millionaire who runs a science lab and is in charge of his own company—so what could possibly be bothering him? Well, his four-year-old sister’s newfound love of farting is causing all kinds of problems. His friends spend most of their time and energy trying to embarrass him for fun. And if that isn’t enough to drive a kid crazy, the big science fair is weeks away and Keith has no idea what to do for his next experiment.

This time around, Keith will attempt to discover something new and amazing in time for the big science fair, deal with his friends’ constant teasing, and help his sister, Emma, learn the complex etiquette of farting. Sure he made one of the greatest scientific discoveries of all time, but the question facing him now is “What’s next?”

  23. My husband first off and I guess even my son and daughter sadly to say. I am the only one who is embarrassed about this sort of stuff. I mean I go in another room if I have gas. They won’t do it much in front of me but when I go out they have fun with this sort of stuff. Thank god she is smart enough not to act like that outside the house.
