Kellogg’s – Share Your Breakfast

They say statistically, breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day. When I was a kid and they were saying that, I didn’t buy it. For some reason breakfast made me nauseous. Now, that I’m an adult and older I know a bit better. Yeah, stats aren’t everything, but seriously how can you think throughout the day when at 10 your stomach is already growling and you the thought of a juicy cheeseburger is ultimately distracting. It’s like a game of following the bouncing ball. Of course I’m sure those stats really aren’t accounting for being hungry and getting distracted – but I am.

Either way, Kellogg’s has done something pretty fantastic – that I just had to share it.

Kellogg’s has partnered with Action For Healthy Kids to help fight childhood hunger as many children go to school on an empty stomach each day. Kellogg’s is asking people to take pictures and “share their breakfast” on their website ( One photo upload to or the word SHARE texted with a photo or a description of your breakfast to 21534 equals one shared breakfast.

Kellogg’s goal is to share 1 million breakfasts in the 2011-2012 school year.

Which to be honest I think is quite easy. Snap a picture of your breakfast. Share away. How hard is that? My kids would and can do that. So can yours right? Think about it, your kids are eating breakfast while nearly 1 in 4 kids in AMERICA struggle with hunger. Yeah. America. Our own backyard. We have a chance to help our fellow citizens and rise above – actually we have a chance to help the future of our nation. You have through July to participate and share this opportunity with others also.

Also take note that there will be a Share Your Breakfast Twitter party on Tuesday, March 8 from 10 – 12 AM EST. Visit for more details.

So what are you waiting for? Go snap a picture of your yummy cereal!
